Renee Edelman Memorial Fund for Cemetery Preservation

Renee Edelman z"l was a longtime member of Green Road Synagogue. She was always active within the shul and over the years she served many terms on our Board of Trustees. She was a dedicated and selfless volunteer for any cause, both in the shul and in the wider Jewish Cleveland community. She always contributed to the Film Festival and she never missed a yizkor appeal. Her passion, however, was cemetery preservation. It was a topic she brought up at board meetings and something she made a point to stop in the office to discuss. She made visits to the cemeteries where Green Road Synagogue owns plots and would walk up and down the rows making sure that all was in order.

Caring for the dead is considered a chesed shel emet, and is considered the highest form of mitzvah. Renee played an outsized role in our shul and everyone knew her. After she passed away, we were approached about setting up a cemetery preservation fund in her honor; what could be more fitting? We invite you to contribute to the fund and in doing so, honor Renee's memory, help support Green Road Synagogue, and partake in a chesed shel emet.

We thank you for your support.
