Rabbi Binyamin Blau
Our Rabbi
Rabbi Binyamin Blau joined Green Road Synagogue in 2011.
He obtained his B.A. in English Literature from Yeshiva University and received his rabbinical ordination from their affiliate, the Rabbi Isaac Elchanon Theological Seminary. A twenty -second generation rabbi, Rabbi Blau has previously served for eleven years as a pulpit rabbi in Elizabeth, New Jersey and spent seven summers as the rabbi at Camp HASC.
Rabbi Blau has studied with the renowned Roshei Yeshiva Rav Elya Svei and Rav Shmuel Kaminetsky, and had the distinct privilege of being a talmid of the Rav (Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloveitchik) as well as being a student of his brother Rav Aharon Soloveitchik. Additionally, he was a member of the Marcos Katz Kollel studies at RIETS where he learned with Rav Herschel Shechter. One of his years at RIETS was spent in Israel at the Gruss Institute and later at Yeshivat Har Etzion where his primary instructor was Rav Aharon Lichtenstein.
In addition to his role as Rabbi of Green Road Synagogue, he serves as Fuchs Mizrachi’s Rosh Yeshiva and is actively engaged in charting its future. Rabbi Blau also serves on the board of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and is one of six people on the Jewish National Rabbinic Advisory Board of the Religious Zionists of America, as well as on the Rabbinic Alumni Board of Yeshiva University. He also serves as the President of the Rabbinical Council of America.
