Rabbi Melvin
Granatstein
Rabbi Granatstein was
educated at Yeshiva University where he received his B.A., M.A.,
and Rabbinic ordination and was a Mendel Gottesman Fellow in Talmud.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Rabbi Grantastein has served our community
for over 30 years. Since 1974 Rabbi Granatstein has ministered to
the Green Road Synagogue and under his leadership the synagogue
has become the premier congregational voice of Religious Zionism
and Orthodoxy.
Rabbi Granatstein is
a community chaplain, a member of the Jewish Community Relations
Council and on the board of the Middle East Forum. He has published
numerous scholarly and popular articles, taught at the College of
Jewish Studies, and conducts numerous classes in Jewish text study.
He directed the Va'ad HaChinuch of the Fuchs Mizrachi School in
the formulation of an innovative Torah U'Madda curriculum.
Rabbi Granatstein and
his wife, Malka, have four children, two of whom live in Eretz Yisrael.
