1. Your Rabbi
Rabbi Melvin Granatstein
is a widely respected Orthodox Rabbi who has strong ties in the
entire Cleveland Jewish community, and beyond. He is a religious
leader whose understanding of Halacha, philosophy, and history is
appreciated in the Orthodox as well as the non-Orthodox Jewish community.
Rabbi Granatstein is a driving force in religious support within
the community for the State of Israel. His leadership on behalf
of the State of Israel and USA-Israel relations is a strong asset
to our Shul. Rabbi Granatstein is a nationally recognized scholar
and eloquent speaker. As a member of Green Road Synagogue, Rabbi
Granatstein will be your personal Rabbi.
2. Your Children
Your children are
your future. Green Road Synagogue is your partner in providing for
a nurturing traditional Jewish environment for your children. Your
youngest children, beginning with nursery, will participate in a
Shabbat morning group. Your elementary aged children will participate
in a mini-Minyan. Your older children will participate in our youth-conducted
full Shabbat morning Minyan. Your children are welcome at our Youth
Group options. Your children will be eligible to participate in
A Gift of Israel Savings Program and the Incentive Grants for Camp
Program (combined with the JECC). Green Road Synagogue will not
only be your Shul - it will be your children's Shul.

3. Your History
The Green Road Synagogue building was built by survivors of the
Holocaust. Our elder members literally rose from the ashes of a
great Churban (tragedy). They came together to rebuild and to transplant
the flame of traditional Judaism. As a member of Green Road Synagogue,
you will also carry forward the legacy of the Survivors.
4. Your Community
Our Shul community
consists of various types of families, including a strong concentration
of families with school-aged children. We not only Daven (pray)
together, but we also share meals, Simchas (happy occasions), and
we generally include our children in all events. Green Road Synagogue
is an open Shul, well known for its down-to-earth warmth and spirit.
When this Shul was founded by the Survivors, it was self-evident
that religious observance among the members varied greatly. Some
were stringently observant, others less so, and others largely non-observant.
Yet everyone was treated and respected equally. This principle carries
on. When you walk through the Shul door, you are accorded the
same Derech Eretz (respect) as anyone else.
